The First State Bank

Please Read This Important Information Concerning Changes to Your Products and Services:

Although we have been your bank since January 20, 2012, your account(s) will officially convert to Hamilton State Bank’s computer systems on June 9, 2012.  This process is known as “conversion.”  We have been diligently planning for this event and expect minimal disruption in service.  We do, however, want to let you know of some events that will be taking place during the weekend of June 9 – 10, 2012.

Account Statements:
Each deposit customer will receive an account statement that shows account activity from the previous statement up to Friday, June 8, 2012 through the normal channel of statement delivery.  Please watch for this because it may come at a time other than when you normally expect your statement.   

If you currently use eStatements from First State Bank, please be aware that you should enroll in eStatements on Hamilton State Bank’s website in order to receive your statement electronically after conversion.  

Electronic Banking Services:
If you utilize electronic banking services including online banking, bill pay and telephone banking, there will be action required by you to use our new electronic banking systems.  The systems you currently use will not be updated after Friday, June 8, 2012 and will cease working after that time.  The information in your current online banking system will not carry over to the new system. 

You should begin using Hamilton State Bank’s electronic banking systems beginning Monday, June 11, 2012.  You will not have access to the new systems prior to June 11, 2012.  Using Hamilton’s online banking system begins with an easy, self-enrollment process.  Anytime on or after Monday, June 11, 2012, please go to our main page at www.hamiltonstatebank.com then select “First-time User” at the top, left side.  You will be walked through the enrollment process.  Please be certain to answer each question.  When asked for your Password, you will enter the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number or Tax ID Number.

If you use Intuit’s Quicken or Quickbooks, please contact your local branch for instructions on how to convert your data prior to Thursday, June 7, 2012.  You must convert your data to continue Intuit’s services.  Complete instructions are found at the bottom of this page under “Help Center” “Intuit/Quicken Help”

Checks:
Your First State Bank checks will continue to function as usual.  To help make the conversion easier for our customers we have opted to continue processing the previous First State Bank routing number at this time.   Please contact your local branch the next time you need to order checks.  Effective June 9, 2012, checks will be ordered from Harland Clarke and this is different from the provider previously used.  As you order new checks after conversion you will see the Hamilton State Bank routing number and logo. 

Debit and ATM Cards:
Your First State Bank Debit and ATM card will continue to function as normal.  In the months following conversion, you will receive a new card with the Hamilton State Bank logo.  If you have multiple Debit and/or ATM cards you may receive them at different times.  You will receive a new card before your current card expires.  You will notice the Visa® logo and a new card number on your new card.  You will receive instructions for activating your new card.  If you have automatic payments set up using your debit card you should contact your payees after you receive your new card to give them your new debit card number.

Your Accounts:
Your account(s) will transition to Hamilton State Bank’s systems on June 9, 2012.  As we move information to Hamilton State Bank’s system there are some revisions to the features and functions of your account.  Every effort has been made to provide you with an account that is comparable to the account you had with the First State Bank.  This involves renaming some of the accounts as well as modifying some of the features.  Full disclosures of these changes for personal accounts were mailed to you on Monday, May 7, 2012.  Please contact your local branch if you have any questions or would like to discuss other options.

Information Regarding Your Deposit Account
Federal Regulations say you must “opt-in” or certain debit card & ATM transactions can be denied.
